About Me
This is the first time I have been able to share my work with the general public. I have been working on getting this accomplished for some time and I am very excited to be able to share my images with you.
Light is everything when it comes to creating images.
I have been creating images since I was a teenager with various cameras, the first being my father's. When he helped me buy my first used 35mm I was like a kid in a candy store. The idea of just going out and taking pictures was exhilarating to me. That feeling has not changed since day one and the idea of creating images of the natural world continues to be one of my most invigorating experiences.
Very early on the concept of light and how that plays on our visual world and the relationships between light, color, texture and subject matter made all the difference to me in composing my images. I was very lucky to have a dad who was a lithographer by trade and had incredible knowledge of color, transparencies and the darkroom. His eye for color was second to none. My dad teaching me the relationships between all the variables to compose just the right shot was immeasurable.
I am self taught from that original point having never taken more than a high school photography class and doing some very basic darkroom work. Unlike others my interest lies in creating the image in the camera and making sure that is what the final product looks like. When printing my images I am true to the original.
I hope that you enjoy what you see and thanks for taking the time to look.
